What an accessibility statement is

An accessibility statement is the public page that tells visitors how accessible your website or app is. It follows theW3C statement structure: the conformance status and standard you are working to, the parts of the site that are not fully accessible yet, how someone can report a barrier, and which enforcement route exists if the response is not good enough.

This generator produces that page. It writes the conformance wording, adds the legal reference for your country, and outputs a statement you can publish in English, German, French or Spanish. It is a drafting tool, not a legal opinion.

Who needs an accessibility statement?

The European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) applies to consumer-facing products and services in the EU from 28 June 2025, with national transposition adding its own deadlines and authority. In Germany the BFSG carries the EAA into national law; France, Ireland and the Netherlands each have their own implementing rules. The generator includes references for those jurisdictions, plus the UK and the US, and a general option.

The statement does not replace accessibility work. It is the public record of that work: what you tested, what still falls short, and how a visitor can get help.

Accessibility statement vs accessibility report

A statement is the public summary your visitors read. Areport is the evidence behind it: which WCAG success criteria were tested, with which tools and methods, what failed, and what was fixed. Frequently asked questions

Is the accessibility statement generator free?

Yes. There is no account, no paywall and no email required. The form runs in your browser and you can copy or download the finished statement. The optional AI rewrite actions are free to use as well.

Does generating a statement make my website compliant?

No. A statement describes the accessibility of a website; it does not create it. Publishing an honest statement about a site that still has barriers does not satisfy the EAA, the ADA or WCAG. Use the statement after you have assessed and fixed what you can, and list the remaining known limitations.

Which countries and languages does it cover?

The generator includes legal references for the European Union (EAA, Directive (EU) 2019/882), Germany (BFSG), France, Ireland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States, plus a general option. Statements can be produced in English, German, French and Spanish.

Is my data sent to a server?

No. The form, the drafts and the generated statement stay in your browser. Drafts are stored in local storage so you can return to them. Text leaves your device only if you explicitly press an AI action, and only that section is sent to the AI proxy.

What is the difference between an accessibility statement and an accessibility report?
